Waxing Unpoetic

It has been an intense summer, full of dramatic events like floods, motorbike accidents involving dear ones, & huge projects to complete. I'm feeling very drained but intensely happy, because luckily it all ended incredibly well & I made some precious new friends along the way. I'm traveling for a few weeks, & cannot wait to sink my feet into some sand & breathe in some fresh ocean air. Also, I cannot wait to show you some more of what I'm up to very soon. For now, a few images that are inspiring me of late. Via my Pinterest.

In Her Studio

It is my pleasure to introduce a short film by my dear friend & wonderfully talented Cinematographer, Saba Mazloum about...well...ahem...me! Saba has worked with some of the biggest names in the biz making everything from box office to art films, & his current mentor is Thierry Arbogast (The Fifth Element, Leon the Professional, Joan of Arc, La Femme Nikita - all my favorites!). So you can imagine I was honoured when he approached me to make this short.

He spent a few weeks with me in my natural studio habitat, documenting my creative process while I worked on a painting from start to finish. It was an incredibly fun experience, & the song which reflects that mood is one of our mutual favorites. My husband makes a cameo appearance in there, too, since he often acts as my in-studio muse! For those who are in the know about cameras & lenses: the whole thing was shot in Anamorphic! Saba has both directed & edited the film himself.
